GuitArt Festival is an annual festival dedicated to the guitar, held in the city of Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Established in 2015, the festival aims to promote the guitar as an instrument and bring together enthusiasts and professionals from various countries to exchange experiences, knowledge, and musical passion.
GuitArt Festival Plovdiv is an event driven by the local musical community and our passion for the Guitar, as an instrument that has the ability to unite musicians and hobbyists from diverse cultural backgrounds. As one of the most popular, and widely played musical instruments, we will be celebrating the Guitar in all its facets, its place in the development of pop and rock music, its classical music heritage, and the joys it brings to the people who play and listen to it.
To be an educational and social platform for the development of Bulgarian musical talent, and to underscore the place of the Guitar in the history and development of modern music across the globe.
We want to immerse our paying customers and casual visitors alike in the world of the guitar in all its colors. We aim to achieve this through the organization of workshops, seminars, and masterclasses with Bulgarian, regional, and world-renowned guitarists and educators, and by putting together a program that features: an exposition of Bulgarian guitar manufacturers and musical instrument importers, free lessons, local artist showcases, film screenings and children’s activities.
The festival attracts participants from various countries, including musicians, educators, and guitar enthusiasts. It provides a platform for different playing styles such as classical guitar, flamenco, jazz, and rock.
Throughout the festival, a series of live concerts are held, showcasing both established musicians and young talents. These concerts are organized at various locations in Plovdiv, including open-air stages and concert halls.
One of the main components of the GuitArt Festival is the masterclasses led by world-renowned guitarists. These workshops offer participants the opportunity to learn new techniques, improve their skills, and be inspired by the expertise of professionals.
The festival also includes a competitive section where participants compete in different categories. This provides young guitarists with the opportunity to showcase their skills and gain recognition.
The festival takes place at various venues in Plovdiv, including cultural institutions, museums, and open spaces, allowing participants and the audience to enjoy music in diverse and inspiring settings. The event typically spans several days and offers a rich program of numerous events.
GuitArt Festival has established itself as an important part of Plovdiv’s cultural calendar and attracts the attention of the music community both in Bulgaria and abroad.
